CU6 PhD students gather in San Benedetto del Tronto for a two-day workshop on using Artificial Intelligence to address global challenges
From May 5–6, 2025, the University of Camerino hosted the CU6 event “AI for Human Health and Climate Challenges” in San Benedetto del Tronto, bringing together PhD students from the 38th and 39th cycles of the SDC program for a dynamic and interdisciplinary experience.
The first day centered on the use of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare. Participants explored cutting-edge applications such as machine learning for diagnostics, molecular modeling, and AI-driven predictive models to combat drug-resistant infections. The day also featured hands-on sessions and student research presentations, offering both technical insights and peer feedback.
Day two turned the spotlight on climate change and marine biology. Sessions addressed the use of AI in environmental monitoring, species recognition, and adaptation strategies for marine ecosystems. Students were encouraged to critically reflect on how emerging technologies can be leveraged to solve ecological challenges.
Throughout the event, participants had the chance to showcase their research, receive feedback, and build connections across disciplines.
The CU6 workshop not only deepened scientific knowledge but also inspired a new wave of critical thinking at the intersection of AI, sustainability, and global well-being.
