PhD-SDC students from the 38th and 39th cycles engaged in showcases, challenges, and collaborative debates on sustainability and innovation
From July 14–16, 2025, the University of Brescia hosted “Elevating PhD Research: Fostering Collaboration, Knowledge Sharing, and Shaping the Future of Innovation”, a three-day event designed for PhD-SDC students of the 38th and 39th cycles.
The program blended research presentations, skill-building activities, and interactive forums. Students from the 38th cycle showcased their research in the PhD Thesis Showcase and tested their communication skills in the Speed Date Challenge. Meanwhile, 39th cycle students took on leadership roles as chairs and discussants, co-organizing sessions and drafting summaries — strengthening both their organizational and academic capacities.
Among the highlights were a keynote lecture by Prof. Carmine Trecroci on the economics of climate risk, and an onsite visit to the Metro Brescia System, where students engaged in participatory debates on climate, technology, territories, and sustainable solutions.
The event emphasized collaboration, critical dialogue, and skill development — empowering students to shape the future of sustainability research and innovation.
