Two-day workshop equips 40th cycle candidates with essential skills for navigating editorial processes and academic publishing
On 17–18 November 2025, the University of Pisa hosted a CU2 (Socio-Economic Risks and Impacts) training event for the 40th cycle, offering PhD-SDC students an engaging and highly informative learning experience.
Over the course of two days, the workshop provided participants with practical tools and insights into the complexities of scientific publishing.
Through a mix of lectures, interactive sessions, and open discussions, students explored the full editorial workflow, learned strategies to navigate challenges in academic publishing, and deepened their understanding of predatory journals and conferences, a critical topic for early-career researchers.
The event encouraged reflection on research practices and professional development, prompting participants to consider:
What part of the research process do you find the most challenging?
