About me

I am Giulia Beltritti and I graduated in Law with a thesis on culturally oriented crimes. During my legal practice, I studied human rights and immigration law with a special focus on the conflict between ethical and legal norms. I later graduated in Philosophy, specifically in moral philosophy, with a thesis analysing duties towards future generations within the thought of R.M. Hare.

My research

The aim of this project is to highlight how the structure of 'transgenerational' moral judgement theorised by R. M. Hare can provide a theoretical support in Value Sensitive Design (VSD), a methodology that allows moral values to be incorporated into Artificial Intelligence systems. It will be argued how the machine, by applying Hare's theory, is facilitated in promoting the value of environmental sustainability for future generations.
