About me

I’ve gained a Master’s degree in Plant and Microbial Biotechnologies and I’ve experience in analysing the expression of genes involved in plant defence mechanisms and for the characterization and quantification of plant metabolites through chromatography systems. In the last few months, my research activities have been specifically focused on hyperspectral and metabolic phenotyping approaches for the early detection and monitoring of plant stress

My research

The project aims to develop novel strategies for the early diagnosis and control of Fusarium Head Blight (FHB) in wheat plants. Specifically, at the diagnostic level, the project will focus on the use of vegetation spectral and metabolomics profiles for a rapid, non-destructive, and inexpensive detection and monitoring of FHB. At the FHB-control level, this research program will focus on the development of innovative biocontrol strategies.
